FENU Institute of International Education has hosted over 5,000 international students from Japan, Republic of Korea, USA, Republic of China, Taiwan, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, and other countries. Alumni of the Russian School are students, postgraduates and professors of various worldwide universities; officials of consulates, diplomatic agencies, and international companies.

FENU Institute of International Education is the oldest and the largest school of Russian as a second language in Eastern Russia.

Institute of International Education is accredited as a federal centre of testing Russian language skills of foreigners applying for Russian Federation citizenship. It has close relations with the famous FENU branch at Hakodate (Japan), attended by hundreds of Japanese students, including Japanese Ministry of International Affairs and customs officers.

Institute of International Education was the first in Russia to use Internet videoconferences for regular classes of Russian language for international students.

Advantages of Institute of International Education are small class sizes (6-12 students for on-campus classes, 1-2 students for online courses), and a high amount of time spent by the tutors on each individual student.
